Samsung has pushed the boundaries again producing the thinnest 5 megapixel camera phone in the UK. It is packed with features and although not 3G-enabled it is surprisingly slim (at 15mm) stylish and highly functional - 102 x 47.8 x 14.9 mm and weighing 105g. A traditional Samsung slider in what one commentator accurately calls "seriously aesthetic" two-tone grey it offers a comfortably sized 2.2-inch QVGA screen. Its main feature is the 5 megapixel camera - with 4 x zoom - tucked safely behind the slide mechanism accessed by sliding open the phone and pressing a dedicated shutter button on the side. There is autofocus and a wide variety of settings including picture size - up to 2560 x 1920 pixels - flash and video. A 1 Gbyte memory card provides a sensible amount of storage for the high-quality images. The music player supports a range of formats including MP3 with shuffle control plus stereo Bluetooth for wireless listening. The G600 includes an integral FM radio expandable microSD slot for up to 2GB storage and a Google search bar for direct access without going through the browser. This quadband (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) GPRS-enabled phone supports EDGE Class 10 for data transfer at up to 236 kbps. The battery is good for two days normal use (up to 300 hours standby and up to 3.5 hours talk time) - slightly less if you use the camera a lot. * Superb picture quality with the 5 megapixel camera. * Java enabled for high quality gaming * 55MB internal memory and expandable 2 GB memory slot * Exchange files Via Bluetooth * EDGE technology |
